    Hi,

I have responded to your earlier query in another discussion.

However, looking at this discussion, I feel that you need to decide on what you want to do. If you want to do an MBA from Canada, then you will first need to complete your college studies and then apply. Colleges usually prefer candidates with work experience.

Since you are good at designing and you run a work shop, maybe you could try out a design course. Design courses are range from fashion designing to others such as automobile design, etc. Does this seem interesting to you? Would you like to know about design courses in Canada?

    Hello Avinash,

First of all thanks a lot for ur precious advice.Yes,I have already read your earlier response.I agree that after my college studies only i’l be able to apply but the thing is I’ve to prepare myself before hand. And I even know this that the colleges prefer work experience. These things are not the problem. What the main thing is that shall I be taking a right step if I join MBA as I do not have any commerce background,I don’t have any base of this field.I purely belong to music field. But after M.A.,the only option would be to be in the profession of teaching wich I don’t want to.

Secondly,I would like to know about the designing courses available in Canada. What I need in future is a good profile job.And for that I need to know what course should i prefer that I’m able to cope up with the new career option if I take any new one or which field I can opt after being into music for so many years.

Thirdly,I would like to tell that I was intersted in IT field too but could not step in as I was not having Maths in 12th.And few of my freinds have also suggested to go for Hotel Management as they feel the talent of being a good cook at present can also help me in my future quite a well.

So,at this turn I’m in full pressure and unable to decide what to do and what to not.My future seems completely dark to me.So suggest me the best I can do.

Lastly,I even enquired from some canada embassy today. They told me to prepare for IELTS and score 6.5bands+ and also that after music it is difficult for you to cope up with MBA.And for that I need to prepare for GMAT.they have just told me to visit them with a copy of my certificates in the month of December so that I apply for visa first. Then after everything is done, then they will let me know for which course I’l be going to Canada.

I am totally bemused due to which I’m unable to prepare for my MAT and SnAP aswell. So please help me out as soon as possible.I shall be highly obliged.

    Hi Jaspreet,

First of all, please calm down a bit. I agree that you have a tough task ahead – but the first step to winning the battle is to calm down and approach the situation in a logical manner.

To answer your first question – there are a number of candidates who don’t have a commerce background, but they still get admission into a B School. A number of engineers, arts graduates and sometimes even doctors go for an MBA. So, you should not worry about your qualifications. Rather, you should focus on what you can do for the future.

As for design courses in Canada, I’ll try and get back with some concrete information in some time.

Since you didn’t have Maths while passing out of school, IT is not an option for you. However, if Hotel Management is of interest for you, then we can look for Hotel Management courses abroad.

Before applying to colleges in Canada, you will have to appear for IELTS/GMAT/TOEFL (depending on the college and the course). The embassy people were correct in telling you that you might find it difficult to cope with MBA studies. However, you can start studying in advance once you get admission.

Please share your thoughts with me. I will get back to you with more information at the earliest.

    All the best!

Hello freinds, Thanks a lot for your valuable suggestions. I checked out a programme in Georgian college, that was of general business and it’s a diploma. But I wana try this in some other college too. Now can you people suggest me for this. actually if I make a search on google, every college will obviously seem inertesting and good for my future on the basis of studies and all. But people living there can differentiate more between a good college and an average one. Thanks again!

    Dear Jaspreet,

Since you said that you have dropped your idea of MBA, you can consider doing Masters in Tourism and Hospitality. Also, please tell us whether you are looking for Masters only or are you willing to pursue diploma courses as well?

    Regards

    Hey friends,

I don’t know but I feel Interior designing + home decoration can benefit me in my future. But Interior designing is available as a diploma course. So, does this matters to get a good job if you are a diploma holder or its almost the same level? I’m also planning that once I’m started with my course in India or abroad,I’ll also fulfill my MBA dream though doing it correspondance along with my regular studies. Rest do upgrade me with your suggestions as well. May be I can get a better option from ur precious advice.

    Thanks!

    Hi Jaspreet,

New England Institute of Technology has a great course on Interior Designing – why don’t you apply for it?

    All the best!
